Richmond, VT

Richmond is located in the Green Mountains of Vermont and is bisected by the Winooski River. It is a small town with Vermont character and agriculture where you will continuously find yourself in awe over the breathtaking views. Richmond is recognized for being home to the National Historic Landmark Old Round Church, a 16-sided church built in 1813, considered to be among one of the first community churches in the country.

The Richmond Trails Committee is dedicated to maintaining the town’s many biking, hiking, and cross country skiing trails. Enjoy hiking on Camel’s Hump one of the most distinctive landmarks on the Green Mountains because of it barren, rounded ridge that resembles a camel’s hump. The hiking trails on Camel’s Hump, Vermont’s third highest peak, were some of the first cut through the Long Trail. The Long  Trail system runs the length of the entire state starting at the Massachusetts border and reaches the Canadian border. It’s the oldest long distance trail in the United States and people living in Richmond have the opportunity to hike a part of the beautiful terrain everyday.

Richmond is a scenic twenty minute drive to Bolton Valley Resort where skiers and snowboarders of all levels can enjoy its terrain. Bolton Valley Ski Resort is a great place for the family to keep active, whether they ski or not, all year long. You may enjoy skiing or snowboarding on the spectacular trails or enter the sports center for heated pools, Jacuzzis, basketball and tennis courts, and workout facility. There are excellent views of Lake Champlain and the mountains to keep your eyes entertained. The resort offers activities like mountain biking and hiking trails, swimming, and an adventure center throughout the summer. West Bolton Golf Club is nestled in the Green Mountains and offers 18 holes of affordable golfing with breathtaking views and lessons for beginners. The Winooski River in Richmond is a great asset to the town because you can go swimming and cool off in the summer or grab a fishing poll and try catching a mouth bass for outdoor pleasure.
